At least 450 taken as hostages in the Pakistan train attack

At least at least six military personnel were killed and 450 people have been taken as hostages after the Baluchistan Liberation Army, a militant group, attacked a train in Pakistan, according to an American official.

The separatist militant group said he had taken 182 hostages from military and security personnel, according to a position on Telegram, but said they have released most civilians aboard the train. The group claimed a greater number of victims in the attack, saying that they killed 20 Pakistani military personnel and knocked down a drone.

Pakistan authorities have not confirmed that civilians were released.

The Bla had threatened to kill all the hostages if Pakistan’s army tries to rescue them, the official said.

The blade exploded part of the road, forcing the train to stop, before they were addressed and took control, according to the official.

The attack occurred in a mountainous area just before a tunnel, making a rescue very difficult, they said.
