The Democrats expressed their outrage after Democratic Senator Alex Padilla de California was retired by the force of the press conference of the Secretary of National Security Kristi Noem on Thursday in Los Angeles, taken to the ground and handcuffed by agents of the law.
Noem was talking to the media about the federal response to protests against immigration and customs’ immigration raids in the area when Padilla entered the room and approached Noem’s podium. When he approached, police officers in the room grabbed the senator, took him out of the room to a hall, forced him to the ground and handcuffed him.
The video shows Padilla, the subcommittee member of the Judicial Committee of the Senate on immigration, citizenship and border security, identifying and saying that he wanted to ask a question while the police forced him to leave the room.
Padilla was later seen without wives talking to Noem in a conference room. Noem later said that the two spoke for 10 to 15 minutes and exchanged phone numbers. Noem said he did not expect him to be accused.
Noem said the police reacted because he took measures towards her without identifying. She told Fox News that nobody knew who he was and that he was “moving forward.”

Padilla then told the journalists that he attended the press conference because national security had not been answering his questions about the deportation and immigration policies of the administration.
“And so I got to the press conference to listen to what I had to say, to see if I could learn any additional information,” said the senator, emphasizing that he was peacefully there.
DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin claimed that Padilla did not identify before approaching the podium.
“Senator Padilla chose an disrespectful political theater and interrupted a live press conference without identifying himself or having his safety pin of the Senate as he threw himself towards Secretary Noem,” he said in a publication about X. “Mr. Padilla repeatedly told him to go back and did not comply with the repeated commands of the officers. properly appropriately. “
Noem told Fox News that he would have preferred to have talked to Padilla, “but entering a press conference like this is the political theater.”
“We sat down and had a conversation and we probably do not agree with 90% of the issues, but we agreed and exchange phone numbers and continue talking and sharing information and that is how it should be in this country,” he said. “I wish I had acted that way at the beginning is to create a scene like this.”
