‘I thought I would die’: the only survivor of the air accident of Air India speaks

London – Vishwaskumar Ramesh, the only survivor of the Air India plane crash that went to the United Kingdom from Ahmedabad, India, who left another 241 passengers and dead crew, along with five more on the ground, said “he thought he would die” how he recovers in the hospital one day after the tragedy.

The Air India plane that transported 230 passengers and 12 crew members headed to the United Kingdom and crashed into a building shortly after takeoff on Thursday, leaving 246 dead, authorities said.

The victims include 241 passengers and crew members, as well as five medical students who were inside the Medical College and the hospital where they crashed in which the plane crashed. Many others inside the building were injured, some seriously, and they are receiving treatment, hospital officials said.

Ramesh’s brother, Nayankumar Ramesh, said it is a “miracle” that his brother survived.

“He said: ‘Our plane has crashed, I don’t know where my brother is. I don’t see any other passenger. I don’t know how I’m alive, how I left the plane,” Nayankumar Ramesh said to ABC News on the escape of his brother’s brother. “Just listen to the accident, I’m afraid to fly now, even to stay on a plane now.”
